Between 1880 and 1920, approximately 2 million Jews immigrated to the United States. They were fleeing persecution, pogroms and poverty. " Door to America” is a musical which follows the story of their struggles and triumphs!

A young Jewish couple, Sadie and Yossel are part of that immigration in the early 20th Century.  They’ve dreamt about coming to America, the land of freedom and opportunity with streets paved in gold!

But they begin their new life in a tenement, working miserable hours in a sweatshop.  They encounter people who hate immigrants (Get out of our country! Go back to where you came from!).  They almost lose everything, but through perseverance, determination, love and help from new found friends (including an Irish union leader and a Romani fortune teller) they find their way and thrive in the new land.  “Door To America” filled with pathos and humor and 22 original songs will be a staged performance and is a Palm Springs premiere.
